Hello! I'm Michael Ahlrichs.
My creative journey began as part of a deeper personal transformation.
Over 13 years ago, I entered recovery from alcoholism, and with that healing came a profound shift in how I saw the world.
What once felt overlooked or ordinary, suddenly became vibrant, alive and meaningful.
Photography became a way to honor that awakening.
I work with a variety of tools, including a mirrorless camera for precision, an iPhone for spontaneity, and an infrared camera to explore what lies just beneath the surface. Each one helps me capture not only how a scene looks, but how it feels.
Through my work, I aim to share a sense of quiet wonder — an invitation to notice the extraordinary in the everyday. Whether it's the delicate curve of a flower petal, or the vastness of a misty landscape, I’m drawn to moments of stillness and grace — the kind that invite us to slow down and really see.
Nature, for me, is not just a subject. It’s a reminder that healing, beauty, and renewal are always within reach.
Thank you for being here, and I'm honored to share this journey with you!
Michael
